Publications
This project will support five major publications
The publications to be produced by this grant include:
- Two edited volumes with contributions from a variety of disciplinary perspectives;
- Two monographs authored by project co-director, Dr. Nancy Snow;
- One special journal issue with contributions from our funded research teams.
We also expect our research teams to produce additional publications based on their grant-funded research.
Learn more about each publication below.

Edited Volumes
Dr. Nancy Snow is the editor of a 15-volume series on the virtues with Oxford University Press. The two edited volumes supported by this grant will be part of this series.
The volumes will focus on loyalty and on peaceableness and harmony. Authors will present and receive feedback on their work at grant-funded conferences.
Monographs
Dr. Nancy Snow will author two monographs. One will be a short work titled, Virtue Ethics, which gives a brief overview of the field of virtue ethics. This book is under contract with Cambridge University Press, and will build on Dr. Snow's article, “Hope as a Democratic Civic Virtue” and other work.
Journal Issue
This grant will support the publication of a special journal issue with contributions from some or all of our grant-funded research teams.
Additional information will be provided to the research teams later in the project.
