The conference will be held at the NCED (National Center for Employee Development) Hotel and Conference Center in Norman, Oklahoma, one of the largest hotel and conference centers in the state. Its amenities include a wide selection of complimentary indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities, including walking trails, sports courts and a 60,000 sq. ft. fitness center.

Room Reservations

Conference participants can call the NCED Hotel and Conference Center to reserve their rooms or book online via the link below. If booking by phone, please tell the booking agent that you are with the "2019 Loyalty Conference." Room costs will be direct-billed to the Self, Virtue and Public Life Project. Participants will be personally liable for incidentals. Room check-in is at 4:00 PM; check-out is 11:00 AM.

Meals will be provided for all registered participants through the duration of the conference. Provided meals include: Thursday (6/13) reception and dinner, Friday (6/14) breakfast, lunch, reception and dinner, Saturday (6/15) breakfast lunch, reception and dinner, and Sunday (6/16) breakfast. Meal vouchers for breakfasts will be provided to participants upon check-in. Other meals will be held in a private area for conference participants. Further details will be provided on site. Dietary needs and restrictions can be indicated on the conference registration form.

Presentation Schedule

Presenters will have approx. 45 minutes to present their paper, which will be followed by approx. 30 minutes of Q&A and discussion. A presentation schedule will be provided closer to the event, and a conference program will be provided on site.

Presenters are required to submit their paper title and abstract by May 1 through this online form.


Conference participants should arrange to fly into Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City on Thursday, 6/13 and depart on Sunday, 6/16. The NCED Hotel and Conference Center provides shuttle transportation to and from Will Rogers World Airport for $32.00 per person, one-way. The NCED Conference Center in Norman is located approximately 28 miles south and east of Will Rogers World Airport. Participants whose travel expenses will be reimbursed by the Self, Virtue and Public Life Project are asked to book their ground transportation with the NCED Conference Center, as their shuttle fees will be direct-billed to the Project.

Note: Although the NCED Conference Center shuttle fees will be direct-billed to the Project, these fees are travel expenses, and thus will count against your total reimbursement allotment. Please plan accordingly.

Please reserve your shuttle by calling the NCED Hotel and Conference Center front desk at (405) 447-9000 at least 48 hours prior to arrival. You will need to provide your last name and the event title, “2019 Loyalty Conference.”

Travel Reimbursements

This is an abbreviated explanation of the travel reimbursement policies. Complete travel reimbursement policies can be downloaded here.

The Self, Virtue and Public Life (SVPL) Project will provide travel expense reimbursements for conference presenters and other pre-approved individuals not to exceed $600.00 per domestic traveler and $1,500 per international traveler. This amount is intended to cover round trip travel expenditures from the traveler’s location of residence to the conference location. Expenditures will be covered on a reimbursement basis only, and can include items such as coach airfare (first-class airfares cannot be reimbursed), ground transportation, parking, baggage fees, and incidental expenses.

At the conference, participants will be provided a pre-addressed envelope containing a Travel Reimbursement Request form, an Expense Summary Report, and other necessary paperwork. Forms can also be downloaded from the conference website and completed electronically prior to printing and signing. These forms must be completed, signed and mailed, along with all receipts and required documentation, to the following address no later than July 15, 2019.
